Lorne W. Curl

Lorne began his adult life and his career in leadership as a decorated combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps. His experiences in Gulf War I gave him an early perspective around the formation of truly effective leaders and what is really to be valued in life. His leadership experiences as a United StatesMarine in peace time and in combat situations lend themselves to almost every business leadership and management principle in practice today.

Lorne has over 20 years of technical and operational experience in many industries but has been primarily dedicated to the management of leading edge technology development companies and projects.

Lorne is most recently Vice President of Operations for Lighthouse Document Technologies, a litigation and technology support company based out of Seattle, WA. Having joined Lighthouse in May of 2005, Lorne was responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of all revenue generating activities and support elements for Lighthouse’s national operations. Lorne’s focus at Lighthouse was the formation of leaders that would realize a unified and ethical culture within the organization.

As National Director of Production for Seattle based “Electronic Evidence Discovery Inc”, Lorne was responsible for the overall electronic document production operations for a company that is recognized as the founder of the electronic discovery industry. His contributions to EED assisted in propelling it from an $18M per year organization to it’s current $100M+ per year. Those contributions included the stabilization of it’s national processes, the implementation of repeatable and scalable processes and the creation of central communications and data collection points that allowed EED to function as a single entity rather than as a group of regional companies.

As Director of Technical Operations for Boeing’s $200M capital venture group, Lorne was responsible for the creation and leadership of one of Boeing’s first venture companies, code named “Kovatis”. Lorne was responsible for recruiting, hiring and managing a world class group of software engineers, network engineers, hardware engineers, technical support teams and marketing specialists that would eventually acquire a provisional patent for a new networking technology based on proprietary Boeing aviation and defense technologies.

Lorne’s extensive consulting career includes leading business initiatives and technology efforts at companies like Boeing, Microsoft, Seattle City Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, King County Risk Management Office, AT&T, Washington Mutual Bank, Eddie Bauer, Nestle Potato Company, Casey Family Programs and many more. His extensive exposure to many industries, business methodologies and technical disciplines has made him the ideal candidate for senior leadership of a company whose goals include developing and implementing new technological or operational services and products in almost any industry.

Lorne is a father of four children, ages eighteen to two and has been married for twenty years. He draws extensively on his faith, family and friends for support, inspiration and guidance in both personal and professional affairs. Lorne’s experiences and relationships outside work, especially as a father and a husband have provided him with a deeper understanding of basic human issues such as the sanctity of life, dignity of the human being, the fact that all things in life are a gift to be grateful for, including suffering and adversity, and the notion that people do not go to work solely for money, but also for purpose and fulfillment of personal goals. He has, over the years, developed a comprehensive methodology for attracting, supporting and retaining quality employees who remain loyal and happy to the company they work for by linking these lessons to his leadership style.
